| Gallipoli - Troy and Pergamon Tour from Istanbul | ||
| DAY 1 | Istanbul to Gallipoli
06:30-07:00 You will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul (Pick up time can change according to your hotel location.)
12:30 Arrive in Eceabat. Upon arrival, have lunch in the restaurant. From here you will drive to the ANZAC Battlefield area to start an emotional & memorable tour.
On tour you will visit:
* Kabatepe War Museum
At the end of the tour, you will be transfered your hotel. Check in and overnight in Cannakkale. | |
| DAY 2 | Gallipoli - Troy and Pergamon to Selcuk / Kusadasi (Ephesus)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel around 08:00 and then drive to Troy to proceed to the ancient site of Troy, 36km south of Canakkale. Your guide will walk you around the 9 layers of ancient cities built on top of each other the earliest dating back to 3000 B.C. The commentary is filled with mythical stories of the site & surrounding areas while filling you in on the history of the excavations past & present. The story of Troy is part-mythology & part-archaeology. On tour you will visit: * A replica of the wooden horse that you can climb into for a photo.
We then continue south towards Pergamum visiting the Acropolis, Asclepion & the Red Basilica. Famed for its great library, the citizens of ancient Pergamum invented parchment for writing when the supply of papyrus was cut off. Pergamum's Asclepion was the most famous classical medical center.
At the end of the tour continue down to Selcuk / Kusadasi / transfer to your hotel in Selcuk or Kusadasi. Also, we can transfer you to airport in Izmir or bus station and we can provide your flight ticket or bus ticket to your destinations. | |

Go before tour! * There are also very few bins so please collect your rubbish & put it back on the bus so we can dispose of it responsibly later on. * Take your bathers/togs/cossies/swimmers for a swim at lunchtime when & if time & weather permits. * There are no shops at the battlefields, so remember to buy water & nibblies before you leave Eceabat. * Remember to take sunscreen & a hat if you're not fond of direct sunlight as there is minimal shade available. Shorts are fine to wear on the peninsula but remember to wear sensible shoes as you will be walking on uneven ground at times & there are snakes in the area. | ||
